Creating TOS & DOS compatible cards

Intended audience:
If you want to transfer data between ST and PC on a SD card then this information might help you.

I want to transfer data between ST and PC on SD card how should do that?
You need to partition your SD card correctly so the ST and PC will understand its structure. I currently know how to do that with HDDRIVER only, but other drivers might be able to do that, too.

I want 1 partition on card which will be TOS & DOS compatible, how to do that?
There is a guide made by 'Mug UK' which descibes the steps needed to create such card. You can get my local copy of that document here or you can download it from the web page of 'Mug UK' (it is hidden somewhere deeper there) or you can also check a thread about that on atari-forum which contains the guide and a small discussion about it.

I want MANY partitions on card which will be TOS & DOS compatible, how to do that?
Currently there is no way to do that the easy way (just by plugin it into PC and reading the data like from any ordinary mass storage). Yes I know it would be nice that you wouldn't need another card for data transfer and you would just plug the card with all your stuff to PC, but... There is still some other way around and that is reading that TOS partitioned card under linux (there are som possibilities how to do that) or creating an image of the card and then mounting it in Pasti, ARAnyM or some other emulator, but that's not that comfortable as just plugin it in.
